The two judges for the St Bridget’s cup 2016 were Martin Abrahams and Paul Collier. Judging started at Sainsbury’s at 11am. Judging lasted till 2.30pm It was a sunny day but a tight schedule.
At the Recreation ground with Ken Prouse, Melville Durrant, Paul Collier and Martin Abrahams.
Ken walked with the judges down Causeway Head to Chapel Street before going into Morrab gardens whilst Fiona drove to meet up with them there.
The judges were introduced to the Friends of Morrab Gardens and Joe the Head Gardener. Taken as they walked around.
After Morrab Gardens it was off to Penlee Gardens and a visit to the Memorial Garden.
We then drove to the PzCFG site; showing the judges where we take the cuttings and grow the plants. The raised beds for the wheel chair users at the JDC and the hanging baskest were shown to the judges and also their inside garden.
Then back to Sainsbury’s at 2pm where we were given a cream tea and chat to the manager and staff.
